This is my go to place when I need something spicy on a rainy day. The best combo would be to have a bowl of Pan Mee, and then proceed to have a bowl of Taiwanese dessert to give my mouth a temporary numbness from the spiciness. My favorite would be the Lat Jiu Pan Mee with thick noodles. You get to pick between thin or thick noodles and either wet or dry (kon loh). I always go with the thick noodles as I feel that it has a better texture than the thin noodles (similar to the texture of Maggi). It's a beautiful sight the moment your bowl arrives, thick noodles topped with anchovies, minced pork, a dollop of sambal, and finally a runny sunny side up. It is the ultimate bliss to tear down the barriers and watch the egg yolk flow down and which you instantly mix well together to incorporate everything. I have a certain standard to maintain, being Indian. There are 3 additional kinds of chilies provided, a picked green chili, chili flakes, and sambal. My best friend usually does this for me, I allowed her to "torture" me by giving her the privilege of adding these 3 chilies into my bowl of goodness. There was once a waiter said to me "You have more chili in there than the noodles". There is nothing more satisfying than cleaning up the bottom of the bowl when you are done, picking the leftover minced pork and anchovies. Now be prepared to face the wrath of the three chilies. Being a regular, the staffs know me well and are very welcoming. Priced at RM7.50 a bowl, I would rate it a 10/10.
